THE TEAM: Richard Peters
Richard
Peters is founder of BrokenOpen. As a professional actor he has
toured for Wycliffe
Bible Translators throughout western Canada, worked for Chemainus
Theatre on Vancouver Island, Stage
Polaris in Edmonton, and Brookstone
Theatre in Toronto. In addition to various commercials and
student films, he can be seen on screen with such actors as Jean
Smart, and Joe
Mantegna.
As instructor, Richard has taught, directed and
guest-lectured across the country; from Gallery
7 in Abbotsford BC, to Rocky
Mountain College, Rosebud
School of the Arts and Prairie
Bible College in AB; from Providence
College in MB to McMaster
Divinity, Tyndale
University College and Toronto
District Christian High in ON. He also brings
to his instruction the experience of teaching and
performing in over 200 churches across the country.
He is a member of ACTRA, Canadian
Actor’s Equity Association, Fight
Directors Canada, the Canadian
Voice Care Foundation, and Christians
In Theatre Arts.
Richard is a graduate of the University
College of the Fraser Valley’s Theatre Diploma Program,
the University
of Alberta’s BFA Acting Conservatory Program, and is
currently working on his MA in Theatre from the University
of Toronto. He is a member of Walmer
Road Baptist Church, and lives in Toronto’s Annex with
his wife, actress Jane Miller, and their cat, Sowelu.
